Buka Bakehouse was established by Bujar Selimi, who drew inspiration from his childhood experiences in Kosovo, particularly the cherished memories of baking with his gjyshja (grandma). Growing up, Bujar would spend countless hours in her warm bakehouse, surrounded by the comforting aromas of freshly baked bread and baked goods. His nanë (mother) and grandparents taught him the importance of using quality ingredients, traditional recipes, and the joy of sharing food with loved ones.
The name "Buka," which means "bread" in Albanian, reflects Bujar’s deep respect for the timeless tradition of bread-making. Each loaf and baked good is crafted with care, honoring the techniques passed down through generations while also embracing modern baking practices.
